On board the Apocalypse Resettlement Colony (A.R.C.) ship something terrible has happened. The A.R.C. mission was to establish human resettlement of Earth following an apocalyptic disaster by keeping a crew of 500 in deep cryo sleep for 500 years as the Earth becomes habitable again. For unknown reasons, the 500 year long mission has turned into 2,647 years.

You play as the last Autonomous Magnetic Arm Repair Unit or AMARU-5 for short. AMARU-5 is rebooted into Autonomous Mode following a meteor shower that damages it's storage pod. Heavily damaged and ill equipped, AMARU-5 sets out on a mission to repair the damaged A.R.C. ship and stabilize the reactor core before it reaches critical mass with the aid of the ship's maintenance A.I. and  equipped with a Magno Arm that allows AMARU-5 to grapple across distances, push and pull objects towards it, and be launched backwards.

Can AMARU-5 repair the ship in time despite such a low chance of success and is there something else aboard the ship causing these malfunctions?
